Pola ini diadopsi Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (Unusa). Lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang dikelola Yayasan Rumah Sakit Islam Surabaya (Yarsis) ini mulai awal tahun pelajaran 2017-2018 resmi menggunakan metode belajar sorogan. Selain lebih praktis, cara ini mengurangi penggunaan kertas dalam sistem perkuliahan.
Ketua Yarsis Mohammad Nuh mengatakan, latar belakang penerapan e-Sorogan ini karena dunia pendidikan tidak bisa lagi dilepaskan dari kemajuan teknologi. Apalagi saat ini sudah mulai memasuki revolusi industri keempat di mana sudah masuk era internet of things.
”Sebenarnya kita sudah terlambat. Harusnya 2014 lalu, tapi karena kita masih baru lahir ya tidak ada salahnya kita terapkan sekarang,” ungkap Mohammad Nuh di sela kegiatan Jalan Sehat Dies Natalis ke-4 Unusa di Kampus B Jemursari, Minggu (14/5).
Mantan Mendikbud ini menuturkan, dalam menerapkan e-Sorogan, kampusnya menggandeng Samsung untuk empat hal. Yakni, pengadaan, penyiapan sistem, pelatihan, serta pemanfaatan jaringan terutama di perguruan tinggi lainnya.
”Bukan tanpa alasan kami menggandeng Samsung. Yang terpenting, Samsung akan melatih dan meng-up gradepengetahuan teknologi terbarunya buat dosen dan karyawan,” tutur Nuh.
Untuk menyukseskan e- Sorogan, kata Nuh, mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran (FK) akan menjadi pilot project. Mulai tahun kuliah 2017-2018 ini, seluruh mahasiswa FK akan mendapatkan Samsung Tab secara gratis. Jumlahnya sesuai mahasiswa baru angkatan 2017 sebanyak 50 mahasiswa.
”Kami pilih FK karena jumlah mahasiswanya relatif stabil. Sekaligus FK ini jadi andalan kita. Juga, FK ini tidak boleh ketinggalan teknologi. Ilmu kedokteran terus berkembang, dan menyangkut masalah kesehatan. Kita tidak ingin ketinggalan,” papar Nuh.
Seluruh mahasiswa, menurutnya, juga akan mendapatkan tab secara gratis. Unusa meyakini e-Sorogan akan mempermudah proses perkuliahan. Dosen bisa mengontrol tugas serta aktivitas masing-masing mahasiswa dari tabnya. Karena itu, dosen juga dituntut berkreasi, mengubah materi kuliah dan mengunggah pada sistem e- Sorogan.
Rektor Unusa Achmad Jazidie optimistis cara ini membuat mahasiswa tidak perlu lagi membawa buku yang tebal. Karena semua mata kuliah sudah terangkum menjadi satu di tab tersebut. Bahkan menulis dan berbicara sudah secara otomatis terekam dan tersimpan. ”Semoga akan menjadi sebuah sistem yang memudahkan kita dalam perkuliahan,” tandasnya.
Wakil Gubernur (Wagub) Saifullah Yusuf atau Gus Ipul mengapresiasi inovasi yang dilakukan Unusa.”Santri memang harus melek teknologi. Kita harus mengapresiasi terobosan Unusa ini,” ungkapnya usai membuka secara resmi jalan sehat Unusa. (Humas Unusa)
